The Local Government Transparency Code for smaller authorities 2014 sets out the minimum data that local authorities, including Parish Councils, should be publishing, the frequency it should be published and how it should be published.
The transparency code is issued to meet the government’s desire to place more power into citizens’ hands to increase democratic accountability. It is intended to make it easier for local people to contribute to the local decision making process and help shape public services.
